Arthur Mock acquired this photo from his aunt Marion Mavis Mock. She believed it was Joseph Mock jr. and his brother James Moses Mock. Probably taken soon after the civil war.
JOSEPH MOCK - RIN 15
Joseph married Jane Weatherwax according to BCY. Census: In the 1880 census of Fort Edward, NY, Joseph's wife, Jane, was listed as a widow. Therefore he died before 1880.
Data from "Descendants of Johannes Mock" by Bernard C. Young.
Jane Martha Weatherwax b:10Apr 1823,Peru,Clinton co.,NY. She was the daughter of Andrew D. Weatherwax b:1783 and his wife Sarah Keth. Andrew served in the 36th Reg. NYS militia during the war of 1812. His father was My ancestor, David Weatherwax 1747-1831 and his wife Magdalena Cipperly.
This family located in the Peru NY area in 1792 or so. David served in the 14th Albany Militia during the revolution. Prior to 1792 they all lived in the area of the present day Tomahannock Revservoir. David's father was Johan Andreas Widerwachs the immigrant 1700-1783 arrived NY colony 1710 with the Palatine migration.
There were several Weatherwax's who were Canal Schooner/Champlain captians and pilots. The sunken O.J. Walker in Burlington harbor,Vt. used to belong to Capt Thomas Weatherwax I believe. His descendants still live in the Peru area. The Weatherwax family is quite large and prior to 1825 lived mostly in NY state.
Jane Martha was one of 7 children. She her husband and many of their children are all buried in the Port Kent Cemetery in NY state. There are several Weatherwax's living in Burlington today, and they all descended from the same line of David.
Children of Jane Weatherwax/Joseph Mock are: Martha Jane Mock, Thomas Mock, Francis Mock, John L.Mock, Andrew J. Mock, Joseph Mock
Notes from "Wayne E. Weatherwax"
THOMAS HENRY MOCK - RIN 128
Thomas was born in 1842 according to Meredith Cole Mock.
Thomas married first Elizabeth Bragg and second Eva Renell according to Leda Mock King.
In the 1880 census for Fort Edward, NY, Henry, as he was listed, was 37 years old, and his wife was Eva. His children were listed as "Gene", a daughter, Alice, "Jomie", a son, and "Sousi", a daughter. These names do not seem to fit the names of Thomas Henry"s children, but they are certainly garbled except for Alice.
GEORGE F. MOCK - RIN 129
George was born in 1850 and died in 1895 according to Meredith Cole Mock.
George married Carrie Bragg according to Leda Mock King.
JOSEPH MOCK - RIN 141
Joseph married Amelia ----, and they had a son and daughter according to Meredith Cole Mock.
In the 1880 census for Fort Edward, NY, Joseph Mock was listed as 26 years old and married to Amelia Mock.
ANDREW MOCK - RIN 142
Andrew married Julia ---- and lived in Port Kent. They had an adopted son according to Meredith Cole Mock.

MARTHA MOCK - RIN 144
Martha married George Bragg of Keeseville, and they had a son and a daughter according to Meredith Cole Mock.
In the 1880 census for Fort Edward, NY, "Mabel J. Mock, 17, born in Canada" was living with Joseph and Amelia Mock. It is possible that "Mabel" is the nickname for Martha. If so, then "Mabel" is Joseph's sister.
