James Wallace Mock and Lillian Dague (Mum and Dad to all of the family) were
married in 1905 so this was probably a wedding picture. Captain "Wally" Mock would
have been 26 years old and "Mum" was 23. During the warmer months they lived on
the Schooner Nancy. Capt "Wally" moved freight up and down Lake Champlain from Canada
to Whitehall New, York and many towns along the lake. One of his accomplishments
can be seen today from the ferry dock in Burlington, Vermont harbor. He delivered
granite slabs on his schooner that were used to refurbish the one mile long Burlington
breakwater that now protects the harbor.
See newspaper article on golden wedding
anniversary of Captain "Wally" and Lillian ( Mum ). A condensed version of their
life on Lake Champlain.
